The Honorable Elinor Caplan

Subject: In fear for Mr. Adel Ammar's life if he is deported to Libya
This is in reference to Mr. Adel Ammar's deportation case. As you may be aware, a negative decision has been reached in respect of the "risk assessment". At this stage we, as a community, feel that we should implore with you for a stay of all the procedures. The reason for such a request arises from the fact that we all know that Mr. Ammar's deportation is unfair and entails prosecution, torture and certain death in Libya.
We are all confident that you are as sympathetic as the rest of all of us about this human issue. We also know that you as a Canadian Citizen do firmly believe that all humans regardless of their nationality or belief have equal right to seek freedom in whatever lawful manner they may deem fit and appropriate. Therefore, we implore again with you for mercy in this matter and assistance in whatever manner available to you.
