Do Not Be Mad; Be Practical

A few Libyans who live abroad and who label themselves as opposition say Libyan people live in bad conditions. I was in Libya last year. I only saw nice conditions.

People are much happier in Libya than most people in most of the rest of the world. Almost every body has a house and a car. Every body enjoys maximum freedom without police presence. I see people smiling and joking and having fun. The most fun I have is when I go home to Tripoli every year. A Libyan person can only feel best in Libya among his people.

I get tired when I hear a few people who reside outside Libya act like they know every thing and nothing is good enough for them. They act like they know all the answers. Well, they do not. They are just blaming others for their shortfalls.

The Libyan government is made from Libyan people on every level. Libyan people have compassion for each other. They love each other. It takes people to make decisions. People in Libya are making those decisions that affect their lives. They are enjoying the fruits of their decisions.

A few frustrated elements outside of Libya are trying to make life difficult for the rest of us. Please rethink your position. Be friendly to your roots. Stay focused on the things that you can do to better your live and your families. Re-direct your energies to build Libya.

Life in Libya is not bad at all. By the way, I have no connections. I just work hard so that I could provide for my family and build the country that gave me birth and educated me and made me a good person.

A Libyan Engineer
