I have a short comment that I would like to make to Tala'e' Tahreer Libya and the other Libyan agencies/opposition groups that report news from/about Libya. I hope that these individuals will receive this note with open minds for my only concern is the credibility of the Libyan news abroad. To those individuals/agencies I say: with all due respect, either bring the whole story with documentation or not say anything at all. For example, the last press release, Mr. Eljerbi has mentioned that "two ex-prominent Libyan officers" and "well known opposition members" to be returned to Libya after a lengthy dialogue with the current system of Libya and after been compensated monetarily by the Libyan government. It seems to the reader that too much detail have been given about those two people, so why not mention their names? Where they lived in the US or Canada? Who is the son who received the money? Who did the dealing and wheeling? Why make people guess? Why keep some parts of the story in the dark? If you are sure about your sources and what you obtained, why not tell it all?
To any Libyan who has a tad of information to share I say: either tell the whole story and with documentation or do not tell it at all. As many people here know, many Libyans read this page and any information posted here will travel within hours to many other people. If we do not have reliable news documented with names, dates and places, the whole issue becomes meaningless. We will all be spreading rumors instead of stating facts. This wouldn't give any credibility to any thing we say in the future about Libya or the dealings of the Libyan government. We could be helping the current system spreading rumors and lies without even knowing that we are doing it. I hope that my message is received the way it was intended.
