Following this letter, please find a copy of Dr. Mansour O. El-Kikhia's letter to the Middle East Quarterly asking them to remove his name from their Editorial Board .

You be my Judges

Ladies and Gentlemen

I promised anonymous not to answer him and I am not, but in a way I am grateful to him for letting me know that my name is on the editorial board of the Quarterly. It is an academic Journal and I respect those who contribute to it in spite of what the gentleman maintains, but I am not contributing to it and it is not right that my name should be there. Had I contributed to the Quarterly I would have INSISTED on my name being there no matter what the gentleman says. Indeed even though I have never met him. I have no problems with Daniel Pipes. I do not agree with him but that should not matter. This is a sea of ideas and if you are smart you will get your ideas across. The reason we Arabs are losing this battle is due more to people like this coward who is afraid of being hurt by Daniel Pipes more than anything else. Where does he think he is in Tripoli or under the Palestinian Authority? People like him are the worst enemies of Palestine and the Palestinian cause because he appears out of the cracks only with the intention of hurting the cause rather than help and guide. He quotes Edward Said who was not afraid of facing the whole Jewish lobby. Said did not post anonymously because he was "afraid of Daniel Pipes." I have maintained that I was not aware that my name was on the editorial Board and I still do. This issue is not important to me right now. As far as I am concerned I have a bigger issue to deal with and that is the loss of my home to a Fascist dictator who gave up on Palestine a long time ago. Mr. Anonymous if you are a Palestinian and so concerned remove the mask off your face and join your brothers who are dying for Palestine or otherwise go back into the cracks from where you emerged. In all cases leave us Libyans alone to deal with our problems. If on the other hand you are a Libyan the days are still between us and the "bouny" you talk about will come your way sooner or later. Below is a copy of my letter to the Middle East Quarterly asking them to remove my name from their Editorial Board. Please read it.

As far as you Libyans are concerned the lord said La takrahu shyan 'asa an yakoon khairu lakum. I want you to know that I believe in transparency and hate working behind closed doors or speaking behind people's backs. Everything is transparent with me and I say what I mean, ALWAYS. As I said earlier I fear no one except Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala. If you have a question about me or about an act I am said to have committed then all you have to do is ask and I will tell you the truth even if it is against me. Thank you for your patience and please stay in peace.

Mansour O. El-Kikhia
