Stop wheeling and dealing on our behalf

Now we see some of the Libyans who met with Qadafi's ambassador to the United Nations circulating their defense of why they have committed their shameful act. They are trying to defend what can not be defended. They are appealing to our emotions, so that we will say, "Go on brothers, we are with you." Some are saying, "We are getting old , we have been living in the U.S. since the sixties; we are sick and would like to go home and die in our country." Some would say we have attained so much knowledge in a vast variety of subjects, and we should go home and enlighten our fellow Libyans. So many reasons they give.

I personally have no problem if someone wants to go and live or die in Libya. I have no problem if some one wants to go and involve himself/herself in any kind of teaching or education. All of that should not require a meeting with Qadafi's ambassador. Brothers, you only need a one-way ticket to Qadifi's Jamahirya. And the reason we find ourselves in this kind of communication with you is because you spoke on our behalf. You acted as our representative not in Qadifi's Jamahirya , but here in the United States. You negotiated school deals for our children here in the United States (some of you do not even have school age children). I wish you had also negotiated schools for the Libyan children in Libya . I am assuming that some of you are at least smart enough to know how much Qadafi destroyed school systems, especially in the first four years.

You negotiated business deals for yourselves in the United States, thereby strengthening the regime that we free Libyans all try to eradicate. You want to make millions of dollars irrespective of any religious or even moral principles.

We free Libyans abroad, unlike you, vow not to compromise our principles for any material reasons. We will never sell our country like you. We will resist because of the thousands whom Qadafi killed by hanging in the streets of our major cities or by shooting them in the military barracks; because of the thousands who are in Qadafi's jails and have been tortured by his agents, because of the widows and the orphans Qadafi has created; because of the families whose homes Qadafi destroyed, confiscating their belonging and expelling them to the harsh desert.

So, do not give us any reasons. We condemn your actions, and we will never forgive you unless you repent and stop wheeling and dealing on our behalf. Qadifi's representative in the United Nations is as criminal as Qadafi. Unlike what some of you have been lead to believe, he is neither honorable nor smart, regardless of how long his resume is. He is a puppet of Qadafi. He came to the United States with one mission from Qadifi, and this mission was not intended for the United Nations. This mission was designed to lure you into Qadafi's one-way trap so that the regime can divide and conquer the Libyans in the United States and abroad.

I call upon all Libyans abroad to join me and strongly condemn any kind of dialogue with Qadafi. We all should work to rid the country from him and build a free Libya for all of us.

Long Live Libya
Mohamed Ali
