Elsalam Aleikum wa Rahmet Ellah wa Brakatoho Dr Ibrahim and to all libyans out there: Ramadan Mubarek Insha Allah, hopefully next Ramadan we will be in our home Libya with our families and friends.|
Anyway I have a few words to say in response to Mr Buisier in his last
letter: [ Letters: 12 December, 1999 ]
As much as I tried to understand your letter, I could not believe what I was reading from a highly regarded man. All I can say to you is give up all this philosophy and big words that do not mean anything to the average Libyan citizen. All we need is some actions not big words. We all know what happened in the first of September 1969.
No, it was not our fault that Kadaffi's Military succeeded, as you are saying, and I do not care whose fault was it, the real question is; what are we going to do about it? After 30 years of corruption and dictatorship you are now telling us that we should not criticize Kaddafi himself. Who should we criticize? if not him!
Sometimes I wonder, what does people like you think, just because you use big words and long sentences you think we should respect you and listen to you.
You are an educated man; do not fool yourself, Libya is calling on us for help and all you can do is blaming the Libyans for going out and supporting a change in Sep.1969. The Libyans did not know Kaddafi back then, our good hearts were fast to believe that a change at that time was good, we did not know or we could not foresee the future.
The bottom line is you are trying to sell yourself to a dictator, but you are worried about what would your friends and family think of you, you are trying to convince yourself that you are doing the right thing by assuming that somebody some day read your letters and call you for a price. Give it up and go back to your first instincts.
I Thank You and Wish You Well.
