Directive by The Libyan Democrats Society
Greetings to all Libyan brothers and sisters; with a great sadness and after visiting many discussion forums we find the debate is sinking lower and lower, let us inject some meaning to our debate. The debate is sunk into calling names and low level discussions. You will never achieve any thing by calling each other names or by intimidating people from departing the real issues. In the last few months the debate has shifted into Arabs verses Amazighan or liberal verses conservatives.
Now let me make it clear to you all; creating meaningless divisions between factions is not going to help our cause, the aim must always be to achieve a civil status i.e. normal conditions in Libya where it is free from the low level personality cult politics where the nation becomes bigger then any of us.
Dear brothers and sisters, it is very important to ignore the people who are trying to disrupt us, the latest letters in L N&V in my view show complete irresponsible media, i.e. publishing a racist views or views which harms the national unity of Libya. This will not serve our cause, we are trying to create normal conditions as step one to normalising i.e. naturalising the political situation in Libya and we can only do it with the approval of the majority. The argument of the Libyan ruling elite that they feel that the nation is not mature enough yet to have these changes, a longer transition period still needed to get to the Civil Democratic State.
The normal conditions can only be created under a civil democratic state as stage one under free elections then Libyans can choose what kind of government system they want.
Some seem desperately trying to box groups or individuals into boxes they feel they are compatible with, please concentrate on real issues and keep away from issues which harms Libya's national unity. The main point of this directive is to focus on the weakest points, i.e. democracy, human rights and freedom of the media
