Tahiya To Haila ...

I salute Haila for her courage in posting accurate portrayals of the Qaddafi regime and exposing it for what it is. Over and over, she has hit the nail on the head, and her opinions reflect those of the majority of Libyans. So of course Qaddafi's thugs shower her with personal attacks, since they have no substantive arguments to refute the truth of what she writes. When lowlifes like those in Qaddafi's regime attack someone, that means the victim of these attacks must be telling the truth. Bottom feeders like Elbraiki, Fouad, Abumes'ab; etc. have no conscience; they are mercenaries who have sold their souls for personal power and profit.

So tahiya to Haila. We all encourage her to continue writing the truth. We love her great bravery and detailed descriptions of the actual situation in Libya. Haila, please continue exposing the Qaddafi regime and giving the rest of the world the opportunity to understand the truth.

I do have one correction to make about a statement attributed to Mohamed Buisier that was posted by Haila on June 20. The statement is certainly accurate: the war is not just military; it is a multifaceted confrontation. But the original person to make this statement was actually the famous Egyptian writer Mohamed H. Haikal, who repeated it many times.

I also have praise for the facilitator of this site, Dr. Ighneiwa, for his tremendous administration of the opinions aired here. No words can praise him highly enough. All opinions, no matter how offensive to any of us, should be allowed in this forum, and Dr. Ighneiwa has faithfully adhered to this open-minded policy. Any form of censorship would throw this site into the same evil snakepit as the phony propaganda apparatus favored by the criminal Qaddafi himself. Democracy demands that all opinions be aired. It demands freedom of thought and discourse. When the level of debate degenerates to ad hominem attacks, this merely exposes the fact that the attackers have no argument whatsoever. These attacks may be painful, but they are instructive for the rest of us who rely on truth and the promise of radical improvement in the Libya's quality of life and government. Let Qaddafi's thugs expose themselves for what they are: cruel, imposture, swindle, hollow criminals without a conscience.

Hisham Zeglam
