I read the letter written by Elmarid who wants very organized and meaningful discussions. I was very pleased with the content of his letter. If he is genuine and he is willing to listen to us as I and hopefully my fellow colleagues will listen to him. I am writing in English not because I can not write in Arabic or trying to show that I can express myself better in a second language. I promise Elmarid that I am in the process of installing Arabic software and I am sure he will understand my point about this. I always write in Arabic as for my books, and letters to newspapers.
As he mentioned in his letter that he wants democratic way of discussion and he wants concrete evidence for everything we say or write. This is not very difficult and it is bread and butter. I want him to open his heart and use his common sense as well as his judgement about what I am going to write and say. I love Libya very much more than anything else and I dream to work and help my people with my profession which I am doing very well here where I am.
A lot is been said about Gadafi, Gadafi family and Eltawerian which everyone know and I will add to it on my way of discussions with Elmarid. The way I see Libyans behaving in front of Gadafi will make me very sad and I will be delighted when this will be stopped. Every time he appeared in public, people seems to be forced to start saying things all of which it is hypocrisy. Gadafi likes these things very much as much as he dislikes Libyans. They bring girls singing for him, boys saying poetry and women making zaggareed.. Why he is not behaving like human beings and go down to people and meet them and discuss their problems and meet their needs. He never went out and listen to people and left the country build it democracy on corruption and lack of any strategy. The people's congress meetings is not real democracy as the final say is for Gadafi which probably you are not agreeing with me about. If you look to all the people congress meetings, Gadafi would appear on the last day of these meetings and would deliver a speech. The speech content is the manifesto of that meeting. How many times we watch it and everyone knew that all the final words will be taken from Gadafi's speech. All these years, Libyans knew this is his way of deception but kept their mouths shut. Is there any way that Gadafi will allow other people influencing the decisions made by him. He is not prepared for that and he is not believing in this at all. There is a lot of talented politicians, professionals, businessmen and women and managers who left the country as they been forced, threaten, or chose to leave as they felt it was dangerous for them to stay in the country. These people are a treasure for Libya and most of them love Libya and wanting to help Libya. It is very sad to call them stray dogs, traitors and unwanted. I feel very sorry for myself and others that we can not help Libya and Libyans. Our names on the wanted list, for what? I do not know. Maybe because they wrote, said or even thought about something which may touch Gadafi. I feel that this is exploring the complexity problem which the Libyan regimen suffers from. We still totally dependent on foreigners for everything and we are 50 years behind in the last ten years. I think the best way is to allow multiparty to come forward and share in planning and building the future of Libya. The people outside and inside can work together for Libya and not for Gadafi and his family. We should both stand together and work for Libya only. If we can not do it during Gadafi era, Gadafi will finish and we will have another era and worse to come.
I touched on many points in this letter which I will summarise as follow:
Is Gadafi popular as we see on TV and other gatherings?
Is there a room for other people rather than Gadafi, his family, and Eltawerian?
Is people outside and inside Libya willing to work together for the sake of Libya and Libyans?
Can we improve and build bridges for the future and try to prevent any other Gadafi era from happening?
Is everyone serious at the moment about changes in Libya?
Is any one prepared to talk to Eltawerian and open dialogue with them?
Does everyone love Libya?
As I mentioned in my previous letters, I am delighted to carry on these discussions with Eltawerian and very pleased to see them coming forward and engage in a discussion for Libya and Libyans. The door is open and we look forward to hearing from every Tawry and Tawria in Libya. Maybe one day they convince us or we convince them or we maybe stop at some point where no one wants to do anything.
