Just a thought

Dear Dr. Ighneiwa

Reading through the letters posted in your web site, one can see the maturity in discussion and the lack of profanity. On the other hand reading the discussions in, for example, "Muntada," you can see the inferior, vulgar and immature posts!!

The difference between the two situations is that in your letters people have to go through you, meaning they are not completely free (somebody is looking at their letters before anything gets posted), where in "Muntada," for example, anybody can post anything under a fake name (nobody is looking.) This leads to a very important point, which is: Is our society mature enough to handle freedom of speech, or any kind of freedom for that matter?

Please don't understand from the above that I am against freedom! The whole matter is that I can't but feel sad when I see the selected Libyans who went through high education and lived in a civilized and free society acting in such a manner!!, and that to exclude the few good men and women like yourself.

Again, please accept my respect

In love with Libya
