How can we forget and forgive?!

As we see more people are coming and wanted to share ideas with us on this page which it is very important for Libya and Libyans. Some of them using primitive language and have no sense of reality that discussion can not be conducted in this way. We do not want to call each other names and use bad language. There is no way people will except this writing if we started using abusive language and accusing every one. As I mentioned before, I am delighted to see ElTawerian engaged again with us on this page. I was pleased to see Mr. S. F. Hamid letter which is very interesting and worth looking at. Mr. Hamid wants us to forget and forgive. Well, that is very hard to do when you have been expelled and your house destroyed and your father was questioned over and over. Even your mother and sisters have been taken to the intelligence department and what language was used at the time. May this happen long time ago and every one still alive and no harm done but the dignity of the old man and woman was invaded by some people who are very close to the regime and his allies. Nothing honors more than the dignity of human being and whatever said or done will not give it backs. Every one talk about forgiveness with Gadafi and his crime but never talk about people suffer from this crime and who will talk to them.

Who will talk to a mother who lost her son in prison for the last 30 years?
Who will tell a man that his father was executed because he said No to Gadafi?
Who will talk to a girl that her father or brother was hanged in public square or at a university because he was not in agreement with Gadafi?
Who will give the old man his money back after it was taken from him by force and he has no right to keep it?
Who will build for a family their house after it has been destroyed or taken by ElTawerian?
Who will admit to the Libyan people that mistakes happened and will not happen again?
Who is to blame for all of this?

All of us want to build our country and help our people with all the experience we got while we are in a foreign country. I am talking about myself and I am sure many but not all of the Libyans want to see Libya among the best nations. We have every thing in Libya wealth, weather, people and place. Unfortunately we are not lucky, as we have been kept in the dark by one man and no one knows what he wants and where he is going. We are now in the 21st century and Libya is in the 10th century. Everyone is going forward and Libya is going backward. Mr. Hamid is right as he said every thing these days is electronic and advanced but this does not mean that we should run after this and leave our principles. If we want to get a place in the new world we should improve our image in every thing. To build a nation still living in the 10th century will take another 100 years to do. There is failure in every system and corruption is on the highest levels. Every one is emptying what he/she got under their arms. The matter of talking about this is very huge and need a lot of space and time.

I go back to the main point Mr. Hamid mentioned about forgiveness and what Gadafi and his agents trying to achieve among the opposition groups. They gained a lot of success and if they are honest with their promises many people will join the queues. If we get all the professionals back to Libya and been given all the opportunity to improve the fields they expert in it, we will see a lot of improvement. Who will guarantee that to all the professionals and who will get the permission from Gadafi to get them back? He does not want any one of them to challenge him and work for his country. They have been classified as highly dangerous and are difficult to control. None of the dictators likes intellectual people as he is afraid that one day they may become more popular. There are many talented professionals who live in foreign countries and can help to build new Libya. I do not think this will happen while Gadafi is in power as the entire is his enemy. He has a problem and he never keeps his promises. No one can trust him as he do what he likes and do not listen to any one. ElTawerian are having no say in any thing. ElTawerian are losers in this struggle as he and them are on the same line. Gadafi is very cautious with them and every one raises his head up he knows where is his next place.

To forget and forgive is easy to say but it may happen in one day if the regime is genuine and honest. I only speak for myself and I express my opinion in this discussion and many people will agree with me and some will not. There is a long way to go before every one will start thinking about your proposal Mr. Hamid. It is very difficult to live in a place where you can not say what you think and do what you want to do. You seem to be not happy in Libya and you are just hanging on with what is left for you. We are living in a foreign country with our families but not forgetting our culture or tradition. Yes, everything is westernized but not to the limit you are talking about. Mr. Hamid, I hope you will find yourself among the others as you are lost and trying to play the card of forgiveness as you may realized. There are two ways for you. First, you have to present this to Gadafi and his family and try to secure a future for your family as time is running out for you. You can see what Gadafi and his family are doing and read between the lines and you will know their plans. Second, you should look after yourself and work with people, they may forgive you and then you secure a better life for your family. For us we know what are the consequences if we go back and forgiveness and forgetting are not phrases we would like to use if we decide to forgive and forget.

Eid Mubarak for all Libyans and all Muslims.

AbAli
